I finished the Memphis marathon this weekend. I ran it all, and ran it more than a minute faster than the bulk of my training, so I feel pretty good. It feels strange having only one race under my belt: a marathon. It was hillier than I expected. It never picked up too much altitude, but the hills rolled throughout.
I have a bigger announcement. I’ve accepted a CTO role at a company called WellGood, LLC. We’ll make the beta version of our site available this weekend so watch this space. I’ll be using the technology that I love, working with great people, and changing the world. More later this week…
Also, congratulations to Stu Halloway and Justin Gehtland. They just finished Rails for Java Programmers. It’s a fantastic book that will fill out the technical niche very nicely. It is the best technical book out there for Enterprise Java developers who want to take a serious look at rails, and the perfect companion book to From Java to Ruby for people who want to cover the whole landscape.
